running lean on dyno

Hi everybody,

Need some help , I just had a dyno done and the gas analiser revel it run lean al arround the rpm ( 13:1 to 14 :1) I am wondering what is the problem can it be because of the different chip and air mass metring or could be something else?

Are you saying you have a non standard 964 chip , and non standard AFM ( air flow meter) ?

If so then this is your issue i'm sure..thats if its ever been right when they were fitted ..do you know this ?
 
yes it is a different chip and air mass from Cartronic , previous owner fited it I just had the dyno done to see power and mixture to see how to improuve things as I want to track the car, do you think this is the problem do you think it is dangerous
to drive it like this, I suppose it is like that for a few years now as kit as been install 3 to 4 years if it is the source of the problem .

Its never good to run an engine on a weak mixture ( burnt values, extra valve guide were, detonation etc etc) , and being air cooled these engines run hot so are normal slightly rich. I would get an opinion of a Porsche 964 engine tuner to comment fully, as too is it too lean or not.

 
I always have my eyes on the gauges specialy the temparature one and it never got to hot even in heavy traffic and run very cool on motorway anyway , but this may not show everythink.
