running spacers?

tried on a set of 17"boxster 986 wheels i have,but the front wheels dont fit up to the hub as the hub nut cover is too big,5 mm spacers look like they would solve the problem.
car is 1988 2.7 lux,would this be ok?and would i need to space out the rear to match(although rears fit fine)

front 7x17 et55
rear 8.5x17 et48
 
Your front offsets prett much bang-on (55mm Vs. 52.3mm). If you use hubcentric spacers that are as thin as you can get away with then you should be alright. The rears arent sensitive to offset so whatever fits there will work.
