rust bubbles - top of windscreen

How common / serious are rust bubbles along the top edge / under the rubber of the windscreen ( along the roof line) ?

I have a 944S2 with rust bubbles in the same place and have seen quite a few others when looking around.at 944s. I believe the no. 1 cause of this is windscreen removal & replacement.

To get the bonded windscreen out they use some metallic tools / wire that can scrape the edge of the frame and cause rusting further down the line.

On any unmolested 968 should be no rust bubbles whatseover along the top edge of the windscreen/under the rubbers, unless the windscreen has been out using incorrect tools or there's been a dodgy roof respray for some reason or other.

How serious? If left untreated, the rubber will be pushed up allowing water under the rubber, thus exacerbating the problem and affecting the surrounding area with further ust bubbles + rust , but only VERY, VERy slowly as it's all galvanised.
Primarily it's a cosmetic problem, but nonetheless well worth acting on to arrest deterioration. [:-]

Hope that helps
