Rust Proofing my 944

Since I bought my new (old ;)) early dash 944 I've been spending my time, before it goes out on the road properly, rust roofing it for future use.

I bought a beautifully solid example in the first place so that of course helps but I've noticed so many people saying "hello my 944 is rusty" recently and wondered if what I do ould help it getting to this stage.

First of all I've stripped off any flakey underseal, check every part of the car and paint on the kurust. After this I re-underseal the car.

Yes, the car is nice and solid all over :)

I had been caught out with a previous 944, Guards Red '86 model. So have been very wary of rot since then!

I check and reunderseal any bits on my car about every 6 months, I find if you keep on top of it there isn't that much to do.

Beat me too it mate. Sills, sills and more sills. Pop the black vent in the back of the door openings and check the rear end and back of the sills the blast with waxoyl lol. You can inspect the rest of the inside of the sills but it means pulling back the carpet and removing the inspection bungs along the inside of the sills.

This is great advice for anyone buying a 944. :D

Another tip for any car, worth going round it periodically to make sure drain holes in box sections are clear.
