Hmmmm....this may be fair.

If they do a proper job on the rear wings, then it is not unsual to hear of £800/side. to get the sills done ? £80 in total !

Do you have a whaletail spolier ? Is this included in the re-paint ? I have also heard prices from £600 to £800 for just the spoiler alone.

If you need alternative quotes, by all means PM me, and I'll drop you some other companies that come very highly recommended - not only for the paint, but because they know Porsche 911's very well

Rgds

Steve

Sorry, but that sounds extremely expensive to me, on a coupe I would expect to see around £4000 for the whole car with glass out.

But then I was always was a tight b*****d!

Seriously, I would shop around...your first gut reaction may be right, If you find a quote you think you are happy with...try and look at some previous work undertaken 1-2 years ago..

Where are you in the country Glenn?

Perhaps others may be able to offer some suggestions of bodyshops to try.

Does sound expensive.

I agree looks expensive...
I had my car fully stripped, windowss out, sunroof out, bumpers off, doors off and taken a part etc etc.. all this was £2200+vat and is he did a great job.. especially as this was his first porsche and he said it was a right pain, because of its shape..

Don't be put off by his web site... yes he is always very busy and does absolutely loads of bodykit installs and custom paint jobs for MaxPower.. but behind the schenes he also does lots of insurance work, and old car restorations.

Thanks for all your input chaps, I live down in Surrey and the people that gave me the quote do all the paintwork/ accident damage for Parrs and they are a Porsche and MB Approved bodyshop.
Price still makes me wince when I look at it.[:'(]

Greetings
For what it's worth I, only today, took my car up to a place in ST.ALBANS who reckon that for two new front wings, two new quarter panels, glass out job, complete re-spray and to re-black all the not so black bits anymore, "about" £5-6k. I'm not sure whether he saw me whince a little, I now I didn't collapse, so maybe I got away with it! oh![]
However that does bring the car back to it's showroom condition!
Me thinks, I'm keeping the car for some years to come so probably won't loose on it in the long term.[:D]
But it does seem your quote is a little high.

Glenn
Seems high to me as well and the doors should not need spraying as a result of doing sills and rear wings but nice to match it all up in one go. You are not in the cheapest part of the country though and it is a Porsche.
Baz

Yeah, your right there Baz,

And thinking about it I might as well get whole car done, as I'm having half done already, and now might be the time to get those Ruf bumpers on order!

She doesnt need a holiday this year anyway.

Hope She doesnt read this, cause if she does my voice will be going up several octaves!

Cheers Glenn

Agreed. When the sills or kidney bowls were done - doors weren't touched.
