Rusty wheel nuts - solution

This has got to be the best £20 I've spent on a car in a long time ....

Search Ebay for " Alloy Wheel nut chrome covers ".

They are chrome coated plastic and the 19mm ones fit my Cayman bolts. I cut the length of them down by maybe 6mm or so as I thought they were a smidgen too long , but that was just my preference, only took 10 mins to cut the 16 with a junior hacksaw.

I now have shiny bolts instead of rusty looking things.

Agreed, I bought a set of the black ones some years back. [;)]

Hi John,

I have located some for sale on e-Bay for various prices.

What about the ant-theft wheel bolt? I am guessing that the anti-theft wheel bolt cannot be covered.

Correct, but I always remove the locking bolts and fit plain ones anyway.

I have in the past got some Hammerite and done this:

Which when used with a soft socket can look good and last for a long time - however use a standard socket and/or too many wheel changes and the paint soon flakes off...I wonder if there's some harder paint out there which could be baked on in the oven?
