S.2 Heater effiency.....

I'm constantly amazed how quickly my S.2 warms up. I generally start up from cold at home and let it tick over for 30 secs, and after about 6-800 yds I'm getting discernibly warm air from the heater. In fact, the only other car I can remember being comparable was my '87 Scirocco GTI.

In contrast, my wife's Corsa diesel and previous Pug 206 take around 4-5 miles to reach the same heat output.

How do you find your 944 compares to your other past or present cars?

I've read the block on the S2 heats up faster due to the shallower water jacket, also read something by Barry Hart that they can show signs of scuffing at the bottom of the bore.

My S2 is exactly the same, it's too hot on full heat and is hot before I leave the street.

It also boils water on the bonnet when stopped in wet weather. Took a while to get used to the steam rising from the bonnet.

My turbo provides hot air very quickly. Half a mile and it's pretty hot in the cabin. Air is quite hot before the temp needle hits the scale proper.
