Not Suffolk but I would suggest Autostrasse who are at Coggeshall not far from Colchester. I am in Ipswich and have used them on a number of occasions with total satisfaction.

I'll second that recommendation. Mark did me well, and I'd happily go back to him.ORIGINAL: chrisg
I would thoroughly recommend Mark Fish motorsport just outside Harlow. Mark has done a lot of work on both my 944's inc my old S2 - 01279 431628. I know Oli had his S2 into Mark very recently and was pleased with the work done.
Oli.

Tony, was that just for the belts or did it include the tensioners and idlers as well?
Interesting, I'm just reading 'The Porsche 924/944 book (Peter Morgan) and the section on belts states( slightly abridged) ...'if you think you have the older pre 1985 timing belt you should change it every 35,000 miles. Those with a post 1985 engine should check the tension every 12,000 miles but the belt is claimed to last the life of the engine'.
Quote.
It is the best book I have read about the 944's with some remarkable pictures but sometimes you do get conflicting information!
I will still do mine in line with recommendations on this forum.

That's certainly not in the service book that came with the car! [&o]
I wonder if he means the timing chain on 16V cars?

Just been quoted £360 by Porsche Centre Cambridge to replace timing and balance belts. I thought this was quite reasonable after checking with 2 independants where the maximium difference was only about £5, so I've booked it in to have it done there.
