S2 Central locking problem

Hi all - does anyone know of a how-to guide to fix a central locking problem please? The lock on the drivers door won't open without the key (there's an aftermarket alarm/immob system on the car) whereas the passenger side lock button in the door cap will happily pop up and down on the plipper. The drivers side lock button does seem to move slightly and you can hear something moving about indie the door when toggling the plipper. I'm hoping something is loose as there's also the sound of stuff shifting about inside the door when I shut it.

All advice welcomed!

Thanks, Craig

If you take the door card off you will see a small beige plastic rod that connects the solenoid to the door lock. The ball cup on this rod often breaks and renders the central locking U/S on that side, I would guess that's what has happened to yours. They are about a quid from the OPC and have the part number stamped on them - buy two as the other side will be a few months behind your broken one [;)]
