Do the wires for the mirrors unplug like the early 944's (white plug) or do they have to be cut out of the loom because i cant find a plug for it ??

I think the connector is behind the carpet in the footwell where the rear hatch pull is situated.

Thats where i thought it would be like the early 944's but i cant see anything and the wires from the mirrors are linked in to the door loom .

To remove the mirror you need to push the pins out of the connector (in the mirror housing) so that the wires can be fed back through the mounting tube. Don't forget to make a note of the order in which the wires go into the plastic connector block (there are numbers cast into it) so you can reconnect it later [;)]

The pins have a sprung element on the side that clip them in place, just push this in gently with a small screwdriver or toothpick as you slide each one out.

Thanks for letting me know,in that case i will just cut the wires out of the loom and leave the wires in the mirror !!

ISTR this was the advice for fitting cup mirrors. Much easy way to manage things, perhaps just use a chock block or similar to connect it all up.
