S2 for only £1,495

most dealers don't know what they are selling tbh . I saw one selling a 944 Turbo as a Lux once !
Hope its not an S2 if they get any cheaper we won't be able to give ours away.[&o]

mind you at that price its cheap enough to break for spares if you need an engine ,diff or gearbox

a DVLA search against the number plate says its a 3 litre so it is an S2.

I agree there are some bodywork issues to sort

Its got a few issues to sort out.... but its definately worth taking a chance on. Hopefully it dosent get broken up []

You will need :
1.Somewhere to work on it
2. Plenty of time
3. An understanding Missus

That's assuming the engine hasn't been changed and the registration documents left unaltered.

It definitely looks like a 'run it into the ground' type of car - spend money on one job and I'll bet a very expensive list far longer than your arm will materialise.

The dent in the 1/4 panel and rust in the sill may have been enough to write the car off if a body shop quoted to replace both and re-spray the whole side of the car.

Actually, if I didnt have enough projects on the go (including my own S2) then I'd be tempted. But I'd offer the dealer 1K and take it from there. I think the rear 1/4 would pull out and I'd make my own sill piece. Then the cost of repair instead of running into £1,000's is only a few litres of 2-pack and primer. Just over £100.

I saw that apparent dent as well. And did wonder.

It may make a cheap project car - yes - but you'd need space, tools and skill to make it right. And that's before you get into whether it runs right, whether the brakes are plate-lifted to bu99ery, whether the cams are on their last legs etc.

It could be worth a look for an enthusiastic DIY'er, and still make a good buy for the right person.

The big snag is that tat like this makes the high prices asked (and rightly so) for good examples look like rip-offs.

Oli.

I can sort plate lift myself too! Cam's are another matter- ~£400 each, do you think the seller would let me take the cam cover off for an inspection?[;)][]
