Hi Folks..
just a quicky??

Anybody know what a 944S2 gearbox is worth.???
The box in question has recently been rebuilt with new pinions + main bearings + seals, amongst other bits...
So it can be classed as exceptional condition....[:D][:D][:D]

Dave,
500-600ish.

PS did you drop the car to EMC today. Clutch should be delivered to me on monday so I'll call Kevin and arrange a visit.

Thing is those prices youve told me are for "as removed" from a car . + therefore not had a re-build...

I'd not expect the rebuilt status to add a huge amount. 20%-30% maybe? What would it cost to buy a 'box and rebuild it? It would be way less than that.

A rebuild would cost approx £400-£500...Done properly....[;)][;)]
Sorry NO lsd in it....
Im looking at putting one in.??? [ Another box that is.]

As with everything, it's worth what somebody is willing to pay for it. The best way of finding out is to stick it on eBay. [8|]

So what is the question here; how much the 'box in your car is worth as you're about to replace it (with an LSD one I guess) or how much should you pay for a recently rebuild non-LSD box for your car?

Well it's worth what you can get for it as was said, but if you have bills for a rebuild showing the mileage and add to that the fact a buyer can see it being driven in the car it should get top money. Top money I still think is 20%-30% over a good non-rebuilt one and if they are £500 to £600 then you're talking £600 to £800. £800 sounds a bit strong to me in fact, maybe £750 tops?
