Hi guys

Tonight my S2 sits in my work car park as immobiliser wont turn off, noise, nowt light blinking away merrily. I seem to remember seeing a post a long time ago stating this issue is the stuff of nigtmares[]

Any suggestions? is this a DIY fix or a specialist job

thanks in advance

Stephen

Depends how handy you are with wires and whether you want to remove it or repair it. When mine failed I removed it because I had a more modern alarm/immobiliser fitted in tandem. It involved getting under the dash and tracing all the wires. The immobiliser breaks 2 circuits and it does this under the fusebox. If you lift the fusebox up you can easily see where the 4 black wires break into starter and fuel pump circuits. Once you have removed these connections and rejoined the original wires the car will run and the rest can be ripped out.

Mine had three old alarm systems removed by the previous owner. All original wiring reinstalled, and a new alarm fitted

Not a huge amount, and the system is up to asking for a discount from the insurer as it's modern.....[8|]

Thanks Paul and Jim

Spoke to the company that make the system, Hamilton & Palmer. Very helpful and think it will be the FOB reciever. Have bought a new one from them £52 delivered and will try fit it my self, its only a handful of wires how hard can it be LOL dont answer just jinxed my own fix i suspect.

In the meantime I left the car at work and was planning to tow it home tomorrow evening but for a laugh i tried it today and wow it immobiliser bleeped and it started, needless to say it was luchtime and couldnt take car home, when i turned it off fault returned . However being a optomist tried it again as left this evening, first time away it went, threw bike in the back and drove home. Of course wouldnt restart once reached the house.

Will try replacing FOB reciever on Saturday and see how i get on.

Thanks again for help

Stephen

I have one complete new unit if it will help. I used to have a whole carton full, but they have disappeared somewhere over the years...
