[S2] Low rev transmission noise

Hi,

When driving at low revs, say below 2000 rpm, I often hear a weird bearing (pinion ?) noise that comes from the transmission.
It mostly happens in first and second gear (I don' t see the point in driving below 2000 rpm in fifth gear, for example).

Friends also have this noise in their S2s.

Anyone knows where this could come from ?
