S2 nose panel - associated parts help please

I've removed my nose (badge) panel to help with a spring deep clean and to have a nosey around for any rust that needs treating.

I've got 2 questions as a result of this panel's removal:

1. Does anybody know the part number for the 4 Phillips screws along the top of the panel, please?
You can see them in this Clarks Garage image here> http://www.clarks-garage.com/graphics/nose-panel-close.jpg
They are (painted?) black and the paint on all 4 of my screws is falling off so they look a bit tired.
I've looked on PET but none of the relevant diagrams - 801-10 (page 223) / 801-25 (page 232) / 802-15 (page 240) - appear to show these screws.
Any ideas?

2. Diagram 801-10 (page 223) lists at #7 a 'Bracket' for left & right p/n 951 5030 6900/7000 for the S2/Turbo nose panel ('End Plate').
What is this bracket? Where does it go? Do I need one? There's no pics on the internet of this part and having taken my nose panel off there doesn't seem to be anything missing and nowhere I can see where a bracket would go.
Any ideas?

Many thanks,
Mark.

Heads up on the philips head screws - Porsche does not supply (at least in Canada) black anodized screws - I ordered a couple replacement screws as I was missing one that held on the headlight cover...I got nice shiny ones for CDN$3.50 each...paint the ones you have. If you want new ones go to an industrial supply so you can get proper size/thread and you'll probably still have to paint them. You might find a plating facility that would anodize them for you - no idea as to cost.

I have removed the badge panel on my S2 for air filter change...I don't recall anything special about it (other than having to reach around blind to do the side fixings so I would think that you have all that you need.

Any amount of black coloured self tapers on EBay.

The exploded diagrams on PET show small panels that are welded into the shell during construction, so you are not necessarily missing anything that is a removable part.

Cheers, Paul

Thanks Bruce & Paul,
After an hour of wire brushing the rust off the back of my badge panel I've come to the conclusion that the bracket on the PET diagram is indeed a part that's welded onto the panel - I assume it's the end piece through which the 10mm bolts go through to attach to the inner front wing and which also has one of the 8mm threads mounted to it for a securing nut. I assume these are sold as separate parts as they rot through eventually and have an important fixing job to do.

I'll take Bruce's advice and spruce the screw tops up with a thin smear of black paint when they're back in situ. A small tin of Airfix black paint and a small artists brush should do the trick. Still odd that PET don't list these screws though.

Bruce, I've also ordered a new set of headlight panel cover screws (as I've currently got 4 different types of screws in the 6 locations), so I'll see what turns up here in the UK. I took all sorts of screws out yesterday from the radio aerial booster cover, headlight panel covers, headlight plastic front trim, headlight mounting bracket and the badge panel, and all the screws were black so it will be rather bizarre if Porsche aren't supplying black screws any more!

Thanks for checking, Colin - I have seen that PET pdf though.
Jasmine Porsche also link to this PET on their website (it's the same version - 01/2010).
Yes, all owners should download the file and study the diagrams when they need to find part numbers.
This is the first time I've had PET let me down though and it also doesn't list the part numbers for the screws for the aerial booster cover which I was looking for.

Thought owners might like to see the state of the inner mounting points on the underside of the badge panel (which Bruce mentions in his post above) after 202,000 miles and 28 years. They're not pretty and no wonder most of the screws at this (unnecessary mounting) location are missing!

All rusty bits on the badge panel have now been smothered in rust killer, then primer plus a coating of Waxoyl prior to refitting the panel.

Amazing how much rusty metal lurks out of sight though!

Here's my 4 phillips screws that I can't see the part number for:

Screw heads and washers all now re-painted black and looking smart and ready for refitting.
