S2 Oil cooler leak, any advice?

Discovered the S2 has a bit of a leak today and not having dealt with an S2 before I wondered what advice you lads might have. This is the cooler that is in the front offside of the car below the screen wash resevoir. It looks as though its coming from one of the small rigid pipes above the cooler, they look a little cruddy so will need replacing, can these pipes be bought seperate from the cooler or is it a full cooler job??

Thanks

If its the small (about 1cm thick) pipes above the oil cooler, they are the PAS oil pipes, theres a load of pipe work there for cooling PS oil, for some reason. Mine leaked there as well as the pipes had corroded. I cut out the cooler area and put it back together again and everything is fine now. I think most people get someone like Pirtek to make a replacement set that goes directly from the rack to reservoir, its a pretty common problem from what ive seen. The pipe doesn't have to be too substantial as its the return and AFAIK isn't pressurised.

I think you're right Alex, looks like it is the power steering pipes, if theres no bad effect from removing them I think l will do the same!

Nick

If it does turn out to be the oil cooler pipes, then I have a spare unused set that I bought before I had correctly identified the source of my oil leak. In the end that was the oil filter housing gasket. Anyway the pipes are for sale if you need them.

Cheers

James
