S2 shock fitment

I don't know for sure but I would be surprised if they did fit as the S2/968 used slightly conical springs that I believe were unique to these cars. The result is that the spring platform on the strut is a different width to that of the top hat.

Maybe if you had/have the complete setup including top mount it might work OK.

[FONT=Arial"][FONT=verdana, geneva"]Yer right. Late S2/Turbo will not fit. Front struts completely different - spring perch height & spring size. Later struts are sealed units and have mounts for brake cooling fins too.

How about the complete strut and spring assembly? Surely the top mount location and lower wishbone attachment are the same? I have a complete strut with spax lowering spring off my S2 which I have replaced with gaz coilover unit. Will that not bolt straight into a lux?

Have tried and failed to post images of my suspension set here so I have created an advert on Pistonheads here http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2578553.htm:
Why is it so flamin' awkward to upload pics onto this forum? Created the PH add in secs!!
Anyway, Eldavo has first dibs on this but in the event the kit wont easily fit a lux, I'll listen to offers from other forum users before the great unwashed on PH!!

My 2.7 lux had 968 shocks and springs plus at a later point I fitted 968 wishbones as they came with the engine. As said as long as you use the strut and spring they will fit.

Well TBH if transplanting from one car to another its the ideal way of doing things anyway as it saves most of the work, just bolt in the complete assembly then off to get geo done.
