S2/Turbo Front bumper removal

Gents my bumper is in poor shape and actually doesn't sit flush on the passenger side, also got raised crazed paint around the washer jets. Is it an easy removal so I can see what the cause of the ill fit might be?

At face value it's a pretty simple job, just nut and bolt stuff (mostly captive nuts so in theory even easier). But it depends on how rusty all the fastenings are and how many bolts shear off and need cutting/drilling/grinding out.

There is a connection for the washer jets just behind the top edge of the bumper in the middle. Don't miss this and find yourself kneeling with the bumper in your hands before realising you've missed it. Don't ask me how I know this.......

Also it helps to be double jointed to get to the electrical connections for the indicators. The passenger isn't too bad but the oil cooler on the drivers side is an extra obstacle.

It's worthwhile using stainless steel fasteners when refitting everything. None of the fixings are really taking any load so a basic M6 stainess bolt is fine IMHO.

This could be the result of a previous respray with the jets left in place. You can't key the area 100% without removing them, so in time the paint starts to lift a little.

I used some breeze blocks and wood spacers so that the bumper is supported off the ground whilst you slide it out and in. This seemed end to make it a reasonable 1 person job.
 
I like to runsome masking tape along of the edge of the wing where it meets the bumper to help avoid scratches when refitting.
