S2 tyre pressure

Just wonder if 34 psi is correct for the S2 cab for normal road use or should I add a bit more. I have Bridgestone SO2 on both front (205) and rear (255).

I prefer a bit less at the back. Don't forget that Porsche tyre pressure suggestions are based on the principle that you can drive a 944, 4-up with luggage, at top speed on the autobahn until you've used a tank of fuel. Trundling around Watford on a Saturday doesn't put the same stress on the tyres. []

Also, how accurate is your pressure gauge anyway?

I run 32 at the back on the local BP machine's gauge, definately better and there's no sign of the P6000s wearing unevenly. Or, for that matter, wearing at all! [8|]

One of the unique properties of the diamond-compound P6000s is running them at less than 34psi causes them to gain tread. [&:]

Usually get them checked in a local BP garage but last check was more than three months ago [8|]. Just wonder how often they should be checked.

I check mine every couple of weeks ! It's worth getting a decent tyre guage - I wouldn't trust those on a garage forcourt.

I've got Bridgstone SO2 front and back, and I run 32 psi on both

Fraid I can't help - I use Dunlop pencil-type pressure gauge my dad gave me which is approx 30yrs old, made from brass and a lovely little item. Would never trust a forecourt gauge (which I've seen return anything from 22psi to 38psi when my guage is reading 32psi (!)

Recommendation for a decent tyre gauge please.

Not exactly the answer you're looking for but I find if I just use the same gauge (ie my own) all the time & adjust the absolute pressure on the dial to what feels right it works for me.

I've used the same foot pump for 10 years+ now & have a good idea how consistent it is (regardless of how accurately it's calibrated compared to another gauge) - I use 37psi all round on mine for motorway driving, 35 all round normally & start at 33 on trackdays & go up or down from there.

I believe the factory figures are 32psi normal, 36psi for 100kph+ or somesuch - it's in the glovebox manual.

I use one with a dial - I think it gives a more reliable reading the a pencil type guage - you can get ones with a dial from Halfords for £10, but they are not the best quality. Digital ones are about £15.

I have my own compressor at home which came with a tyre inflator. I swapped the gauge for a calibrated 0-60 psi gauge from a local hydraulics supplier (aboyt £10). I am running 32 front and rear at the moment on Falken FK452's. Based the pressures on reading items on this forum some months ago and so far all seems to be well. Tyres seem to perform predictably and road noise seems quite low.
