Popped into Sainsbury's yesterday, came out got in the car and went home..... Parked up, and guess what?

a crumpled front wing!! not even a "Sorry" note.....grrr

Will take a pic of the damage later, but be warned park well away from the "Family" parking slots - they can hurt!!

[] Oh no! I hope it's not too badly damaged.

Everyone seems to think I'm mad when I park as far away from the store as possible in a supermarket carpark. Trouble is you still come back to find a car has been parked either side (and not another one for a dozen spaces or more!).

Makes me feel sick then furious. Has happened to me a few times now. I sympathise. Always feel that I'd end up getting myself in a lot of trouble if I caught the b******s in the act.

Hi Peter,

Normally I am as mad as you then, but as I was in a hurry I dismissed my concern's and parked as close to the doors as possible. The saving grace, if there is one, is that I always reverse into the parking bay, had I not it would have been a rear corner, rather than a front, and I image that would have been more costly to repair.

I have a friend who is a painter/finisher and will be speaking with him on the repair. I hope the dent can be sucked out, a minimum amount of P38 and the whole wing sprayed. The alternative of course if to find a second hand wing, have it prepared and sprayed, then re-fix, the advantage being minimum time off road, and a wing which can be repaired and sold/stored as a future spare.

Cheers

Hi, sorry to hear of your trouble. might it be worth asking the supermarket if they have cctv? You might find the number of the vehicle that did it and report them to the Police for leaving the scene etc. There`s a slim chance it might work.

Hi All,
I'm not quite sure how unlucky/lucky you can be .... but I seem to have had a bit of a reprive ... Pulled in for petrol today, on leaving someone reveresed into the same corner and compounded the damage already done. He has admitted liability, accompanied me to a body shop and accepted the quotation ... How lucky s that?

Anyway .. with 2 prangs in 2 days ... I think me and the '44's may have come to the end of a life.....sad but C'est le vie...... now looking at a 964 ... which is at the right price ... and needs only a little work .....

I still have the pictures of the damage .... and am happy to post .... should anyone be interested the quotaition for repair was £1500.00, which I thought was a tad on the high side ... but should panels be required .... not unreasonable ....

Stu

Good luck (sort of) on your second bump. A similar thing happened to me in reverse during my first year of driving. I bumped someone in the car park, they got the car sorted under my insurance which loaded my policy going forward and the day after he picked it up from thebodyshop he wrote the car off. I was a bit p'd off, but that's life.

Well I think that a brand new S2 wing is circa £400 so assuming the damage is limited to the wing only i'd have thought a you'd have been able to get a new front wing replaced and sprayed up for less than £1500?

Anyway, sorry to hear you are parting ways with your 944. I would be interested to hear how you get on with your 964.
