Sat Nav Continous Tracking

I wonder if someone could help with this.

Probably very dormant on my part, but after reading the PCM relevant pages and wasting considerable time accessing all sorts of screens and sub-screens, I'm still stuck. The issue is that when I select Map, the tracking arrow showing the position does show (in the geographical area where I live). Then, as I drive off and away from that area, the arrow does indeed move, but when it reaches the edge of the map, it disappears. The only way to still view the current position is to adjust the map to make it smaller (i.e. covering a larger geographical area). This is useless, because the arrow shows that I'm in a certain spot in north-west Lancs, but the map is not detailed enough to show which road I'm actually driving through.

I'd expect the Sat Nav tracking positioning arrow to work, regardless of whether a destination has been set and activated?

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Rspecos,

My 06 997 did this a while back (basically the map stays stationary), I solved it with a system reset (in one of the menu's). After you have done the reset, you will need to reset some of your other global settings, such as a few of the audio settings, POI's etc (nothing serious).

Once I did this, everything was OK and touch wood, hasn't gone awol again. Hope this helps. [:D]

The other option to check (which happened the other weekend) is to check that 'current position' box is checked via the cursor button.
