Please see the relevant threads on the 997 forum - sorry I don't know how to paste the link !

In short I'm building a database of disaffected 997 users pressuring for a solution to the dated mapping and lack of TMC. Please feel free to e-mail me at robert.prince@bt.com with your name, model, registration and supplying dealer.

Thanks

Rob

Thanks.

I've been keeping an eye on the threads, and I was with the 997 tour at Reading earlier in the year when this was brought up.
I'll put a bit in Porsche Post about this (next copy will be for the Sept issue).

May also be worth posting on the Cayenne area...

I'm bumping this up, and pinning to the top of the forum - I've been supporting Derek and Rob with this matter so far, but I don't actually have TMC myself...
If Boxster owners can get in touch direct with Rob then we will have a larger "number" of members with which to make our representations to Porsche.

Sorry to rub salt into the wounds, but TMC works brilliantly in my Cayman S. Mind you, at £50K, I suppose that is rather an expensive way to get my 997 TMC to finally work. I think Rob's method is cheaper Still, I will be entitled to yet another Porsche Driving Experience. Can't get enough of those!

During a spin in my new Cayman, Rob (997 RS) noticed that the Sat Nav DVD disc is as old as Apr 05, whereas his updated disc is Aug 05, some 2 months before my Cayman was built. I took this up with PGB and tonight received an answer. Apparantly the data on the Apr 05 disc is identical to that on the Aug 05 disc.

Moreover, even new vehicles arriving today at my OPC are equipped with the Apr 05 disc and not the Aug 05 version..

Just thought you might be interested as to why you may not have the latest disc.
