an error message has appeared on my sat nav. when i click on to the map, a message appears "loading" then after a while the following appears" error when starting navigation"

has enyone encountered this.

is the pcm covered under the new extended warranty

Probably only needs a reset of some kind, possibly acheived by removing power source? I believe the PCM is covered under the new warranty scheme provided they can't use the "fair wear and tear" clause.[;)]

press 148 whilst unit is on to do a factory reset of the system ... maybe that the dvd drive is faulty under front bonnet

please excuse my naivety. i have just tried your reset suggestion, but probably did it wrong!!

i turned on ignition
pressed map button (radio also on)
pressed confirm
"loading" text appeared
typed in 148 on keypad - this changed radio chanels

was this sequence correct?

thanks. tried that. radio re-booted but no change to the sat nav. system not picking up satelites. have had this issue once before. self rectified after a few days on that occassion

have you had a service lately as the gps pick up is above the pollen filter and sometimes ends up disconnected when replacing such thing...

you need to pull off the cover around the washer bottle neck and look towards pollen filter , this is where it connects....

i think you either have a gps fault or a dvd drive fault , looks like you will have to take it to opc..

would have thought they would be covered under warranty though

The new warranty does indeed cover the PCM
The old one did not...
I doubt they will try the wear and tear line on the PCM

garyw

Are you using an original map DVD ? The DVD can get warm in the DVD drive or become misted with a fine layer of dust. Try ejecting the map DVD , cleaning with a soft lint free cloth and using a DVD lens cleaner in the map DVD drive.

i am using the original dvd. i took the disc out, but did not give it a clean. will try this later.

thanks for the comments to date
