Sat Nav Questions

Hi all,

I have just purchased a 2005 997 cabriolet and am having some troubles with the sat nav. Basically, it appears to be lost and the map doesn't reflect where I actually am. Does anyone know how to reset it? It has got a GPS signall, but doesn't seem to correspond to where we are.

Secondly, I don't have Post Code search, nor mp3 playback. I have called my OPC who have given me the partnumber for the latest/last CDs. Its an impressive £360 [8|] . Will these discs also update the software and give me new maps? The parts guy wasn't sure but assumed it would.

Any help appreciated. I don't want to fork out £360 if I only get new maps, its the new functionality that I am interested in.

Thanks!

Paul.

The satnav problem sound exactly like the one I had with mine - the car was stuck in an area of the map and no matter where I drove, it stayed in that area, randomly moving. It turned out that the satnav connector had come loose from it's fitting on the windscreen.

The newest software version should give you postcode search. I don't have the latest maps but I do have the most up-to-date PCM2 software - one is not conditional upon the other and I think the software upgrade is cheaper than the map pack.

or buy the latest top of the range garmin or tomtom sat nav, a lot easier to get new maps, speed cameras and all the other stuff that they come with, and a lot cheaper than £360.

Original Map problem:

With map displayed; press the bottom right hand knob, should display a sub-menu, scroll down to 'Display Current Position', press the bottom right knob to select.

£360 includes a new map. If you post in the wanted section someone local to you may have a spare copy of the discs [;)]

New maps won't give you full postcode search.
You may also require a software update for your PCM, which the dealer may try to charge half an hours labour for!!

Take a look in the cayenne section for possible suppliers of cheaper discs....
