Sat Nav traffic information

Does anyone know how to get TMC working on PCM2 Sat Nav (2004 911 turbo). Is it merely licensing problems with POrsche GB? I had the same problem with a 2002 BMW 5-series, and solved it simply by using the Sat Nav disc from a Range Rover. That disc does not work with the Porsche.

The CD or DVD has to have the TMC codes embedded within. If the mapping software is not TMC compliant it will not work even if the receiver is.

Thanks, Gary, but are there CD's available from Germany for instance that have the necessary codes embedded? The manual states that TMC is an option, presumably in Germany. Are there other car manufacturer's Sat Nav systems that are compatible with the POrsche system as Range Rover is with BMW?

Germany has had TMC for several years now, hence the Porsche CD's are TMC compliant. UK only went on line with TMC at the end of 2003, so the CD's havent yet been updated. I belive Navstar produce the CD data, but it is usually manufacturer specific, ie Porsche system is made by Becker, BMW is VDO I think. This is why I threw out the PCM and fitted a Kenwood system. Expensive at £3K but has all of Europe on 1 DVD, as well as MP3, DVD and TV - Oh and TMC
