SATNAV Bracket

I am considering buying a TOMTOM or similar but do not want to mount it on the windscreen (police recommend against it as rubber sucker leaves a tell tale mark when you remove it for security)
I have a 987 Boxster and wonder if anyone has positioned a SATNAV anywhere on the dashboard?

Various interesting mounting arrangements including Vent mount, floor mount (on gooseneck) and "cup-holder mounts" are available out of the US on fleabay, particularly for the Garmin range of GPSs. Do a search and you may find something similar for the Tom Tom range.

It's probably too late, but another option to consider is to replace the standard CDR220 or whatever radio you have with a 2 DIN Kenwood DDX range DVD/tuner unit with GPS, TV tuner, Bluetooth options etc. ! Clarion and Pioneer do something similar

Thanks for the info - went onto the Brodit site www.dsldevelopments.com and found a bracket specifically made for a Boxster which clips in at the side of the radio with no damage. I have ordered one at £15.99
May help anyone else who wants a bracket for phone or SatNav

Probably the same one as this...

If you have a Tomtom with a power connection on the rear you might struggle without a spacer , or the swivel joint that Brodit sell, to bring the unit forward a bit.

I have just got the TT one Europe and was wondring if this will do as I take it you remove the plastic holder when you leave the car otherwise some one looking in sees the clamp and assumes you have a sat nav stored some where in the car, the power connection is in the bottom of the set and then plugs in to the cig lighter ,or is their a way to hard wire it to the car ? Is it not safer to be looking straight at the windscreen than looking down to view the screen

John,
I stick my Sat Nav on the windscreen using a sucker, it get swapped around all the cars. To remove the tell tale ring mark I have some moist wipes (usually about 5 or so in a plastic bag. Wipes the window a treat and always useful for cleaning hands.
Have a look at this ebay item
