Error message on screen when trying to use satnav ; interogating the system suggests there is a disconect between the cd and system ,my local nonfranchised dealer says they cant find out anything more without taking the boot apart. Any thoughts? Sounds expensive!

I think you can try a reset of the PCM by pressing the 1,4 and 8 keys simultaneously. Did the Indie connect a PIWIS?

Heypresto pressed 148 satnav now working! Many thanks. Somewhat shattered my confidence in the indie! Saved a bob or two as well , thanks again .I can now confidently extol the virtues of joining the forum to my rather sceptical wife.

Pleasure!
Perhaps you would also like to join the club and come on some of the brilliant 997 register trips/events.[:)]

Spoke too soon, satnav switched itself off after 2 hours operation unable to reboot with 148 after several attempts. Has since switched itself on and off at will. Also problem wih CD player, again switched itself off and screen froze unable to eject CD despite repeated attempts but eventually able to.All sounds like a rather involved software p.oblem. Any further help appreciated. Simon

Personally I would take it along to a Porsche Centre and get them to plug in stuff to diagnose the problem. Then, when you know (and how much) you can make a decision on what to do! If it is just a software issue rather than hardware then it shouldn't be too costly to reload.

Edited for incompetence..........[;)]
