Saturated lower doors, sealant to use??

Plenty of threads for reason for the wet doors, I know it's the inside membrane foam failure.
My question is; what sort of sealant would you use to reseal the membrane?
I've already had ago with ordinary household sealant but it appears to have failed away a month. So I think I need a different form of it.

Obvously the best way would be to buy and fit new membranes but frankly I'm far too tight for that (I'm a yorkshireman) so I'd prefer to have one last go with the diy fix before heading to the dealership.

Any ideas?

If you use sealant, what happens if you need to get the inner panel off again, for example if you have to replace a window regulator?

I had the passenger side membrane fail on my car & didn't fancy taking any chances with a 'bodge' job, especially as the ecu / control unit is under the passenger seat. All sorts of very expensive issues if that gets wet. Decided to get the OPC to fit a new membrane, cost about £200 all in.

 
Although done recently and thus I have no idea as to their longevity, I had my 964 membranes reattached with "Eastwood Flexible Strip Caulk" from www.frost.co.uk

 
I've decided to stick with the diy fix snd have used sealant designed to withstand vibration.

The standard foam fitted to the inside membranes are completely inadequate, hence why I wanted to stick with the diy fix before spending hundreds at the dealership.
