Savings from ProMAX

Beaky has some new bits:-

A Lindsey Racing lightened flywheel and a Spec Stage II clutch. [:)]

Being a lazy sod, I e-mailed Andrew at ProMAX to find out how much he could supply them to me for. I also wondered how this would compare to my "What you see in Dollars is what you pay in Pounds" estimate.

Andrew gave me a figure under my estimate, and an anticipated delivery of under a week, so I said "Make it so".

I'd not really giving it much more though but Andrew sent the following which I thought might interest you guys.

All I shall say is "Top man Andrew".

Strangely, had I gone direct to Lindsey, and paid VAT and duty, my $'s=£'s estimate would have been about spot on. Noting the weight of the package, the odds on avoiding VAT & duty would have been slim.

Not a lot happening today, so thought I would conduct a little exercise. Now, I'm sure you'll want to know how much money that little lot saved you (compared to buying direct from Lindsey)?

Well here it is...

Out of interest John, why did you go for the SPEC over OEM? A necessary change for future planned mods, or just a good deal?

A SPEC Stage 2 has huge capacity and is supposed to be lovely and smooth - even my stage 3 has a light clutch action so it will have that too. It can handle much more torque than the OE clutch. It costs much the same too, so the question is almost "why would anyone buy OE over SPEC?"

Because there is very little more embarrassing then burning your clutch when frustration dictates that spinning the wheels is necessary. [;)]
