SC AT JZM THAT CAUGHT MY EYE

david,
took a peek at the sc,very nice condition all round, and if jzm say its ok then i would take them at their word...but have a go in it all the same.....nice car!........andy miles 1983 estoril blue sc.

Well there's actually no service history so there will b no ones 'good nsme' going on anything. In fairness they have carried out alot of work themselves and they have all the bills. Also I don't for a minute doubt them it's just the old thing about buying one with no service history. Is it irrelevant for one that's been restored as extensively as this one? Will it not matter at resale? Without service history should I b looking at it atall? Is it expensive without service history or again is that irrelevant and it's practically a new car given all that's been spent on it?? It's a minefield !!! Will any old SC turn out to b a monepit?? So many questions !!

The fact it has no service history and 154k mileage u dont think is a problem?

Maybe the fact that it has no service history could be a haggling point - although if it has had a full engine & gearbox rebuild (with receipts I hope), along with other work (£17,000 worth according to the advert) does it really matter if it missed a service back in 1986?

The car isn't 'original' as such anyway - The wheels are either 7&8" or 7&9" not standard fit on an SC, it has got later seats (look like 993 ones), momo steering wheel, drilled disc brakes etc. so I personally wouldn't get to uptight about service history.

Just my 2cents.

Looks nice in the photos, just check carefully the A posts, B posts, sills, battery area for corrosion as these are common rust points - Looks worth a visit to me, take someone who knows the cars if you can, who can be objective.

It's just appeared online so I should imagine at this stage it's the price advertised. I'll check it out Saturday. Also with no service history it may b there a while so closer to Xmas it may come lower in price. The guy selling needs space/ cash is the story.
