Hello to all fellow SC owners. I have been sent away, tail between legs, to the SC forum site for my sins by the general discussion page. Please take a look at the content & let me know your views.

Hi Tristan
Prices for 911 SC' s seem to be reasonably stable, but for the lower priced one (£8-10K) that will be showing a few paint bubbles here and there in the usual places, then I suspect that the buyer will get a very hefty bill should he decide to ' mint' it. When I owned a 1984 3.2 I fell into that trap and it eventually cost me the best part of £10k to sort out the bodywork!
It's the same old story of getting what you pay for I'm afraid. These models are superb cars to drive and own, and my own '82 SC is a pure delight to drive.
For some reason people seem to think that because they are an "˜older' model the price should reflect the age and they want the cars for next to nothing. What they fail to understand is that excellent models of these cars are getting thin on the ground and as the rarity of good cars increases, so will the value! I am pleased to hear that they are holding there own and I have also heard rumours that they are actually rising in price and even higher than the 3.2 & 964 models in some cases. Last year I was told by a trader that I could expect £17k for my own car (original, mint, genuine 36K miles), but this year another trader came out with a figure far higher! Its very satisfying, but lets be honest, it will only be worth what someone will actually pay for it.
I have recently been appointed as the Asst. 911 SC Register Secretary and all being well, Darren will send me a ticket for the SC stand at Eyensham Hall and the car will be there to look at.
I am always open to offers "" but only very serious ones!
Have fun.[:)]

peter may i come and have a look too? i' ve never really taken much notice of older cars but since joining this forum im becoming more interested. I would like to find out what they are like to drive. but nobody is mad anough to let me [:)] sounds like you have to drive THEM more than you do a Boxster.

As a 10 year owner of an SC I agree with Peter Bull; mine is not perfect but a reliable and attractive useable car, still quick and still with good enough paintwork to warrant careful polishing!

Only problem is that I am now the proud father of an 18 year old whose own car is taking up room on the drive so the luxury of having an SC as a third w/end car is no longer possible. So an upghrade to a 993 as a main car is on the horizon.
