SC rear tyres

I need some new back tyres. I currently have Firestone 215 60 15, Firestone do not make this size any more. Pirelli do make this size but at a price. Has anybody got any thoughts about a wider tyre such as 225 60 15. I want a "good" tyre not some budget special. Any comments gratefully accepted.
 
To maintain the same gearing and hence speedometer accuracy, I'd go for 225/55 or 225/50 15's (check for the closest rolling radius). That probably increases your choice as well.
 
I have talked to a number of people including Canford Classics and the consensus was to stick with the original size tyres. So new Pirellis it is then at £200 each plus also 2 for the front, better have a matching set. You can't run a Porsche on Fiesta money !
 
Having listened to the people who know, the answer is simple buy new Pirelli tyres. Then go to the pub to recover, you can't run a Porsche on Fiesta money.

Pireli do also make 205/50R15 P7 tyres and 225/50R15 P7. but what might be really exciting to some people with really wide wheels is they are also making a 285/40R15 P7 now too.

there is more interesting news from Pirelli. They will also be making some 16" P7 tyres for you guys soon too also with the N4 hjomologation.
