Scottish Car Show 2012 - Photos and Video Links

Hi folks,

Ive been off the forum for a few months due to someone trying their best to write my car off - they failed and its now back sporting two new sides, doors, wings, mirrors and all though!

The reason for my post is that I am one of the main organisers behind the annual car show at Ingliston in July - The Scottish Car Show.

Now in its 9th consecutive year the event draws motoring enthusiasts from across Scotland and what used to be a predominantly hot hatch/modified/Fast & Furious style event at the beginning has matured along with the car club scene in Scotland to attract clubs from classics and retro to modern and import. With Mustang Owners, MLR and Skyline Owners as just some of the more grown up clubs attending.

I've only had my Porsche for just over a year and attended my first outing in Feb (before the accident) so thought I'd mention the car show to see if the club would be interested in either attending as a group or to enter individual cars for the indoor Top 50 display area.

The website with info on the event is : www.scottishcarshow.com and will be updated as new attractions are added.

Its a family fun day event sponsored in part by the governments Road Safety Scotland division plus Verve motor group and The Sun newspaper with a ton of stuff to keeps kids entertained too (face painting, petting zoo, magic shows, fairground and funfair rides etc).

Just throwing the idea out there :)

Thanks,

Rikki

Hey Brian, Sharon told me today that someone with a gorgous Speedster had called about attending, I put two and two together and was right :) She said you might try and arrange a group display stand for club, if so and if its ok I can put my car in this area along with other members. Thanks, Rikki

I might be able to bring the 512 out for this, but will need to confirm nearer the time as I'm not sure where I'll be with work....

I am going to be attending this, I am looking forward to it. Good to hear its moved more away from the fast and furious style.

Hi folks, Things are moving ahead very well with the show and we've added a lot more family entertainment options so kids / youngsters will be taken care of too. It has definately moved away from the Max Power style it began with in the early 00's and just as there are no more boy racers around with flip paint, daft bodykits and Oor Wullie bucket sized exhausts the show has altered along the way with more slant on classics, owners clubs, imports and performance. The site is live at www.scottishcarshow.com and I'll keep this post updated on the attractions list as we confirm new things along the way :)

Poster / flyer combo approved for the show and now live too ...

Just back from this show 9 Porsche's in the indoor stand right at the entrance to the show so maximum exposure .The array of the cars where spectacular in the main arena that we where in ,some of those guys have spent a fortune on their cars way in excess off the cost of a Porsche GT3RS and the level of preparation is incredible. Plenty to do for the whole family and loads of car clubs in the outside area as well ,the only down side was the choice of music and the volume it was played at some what LOUD[:D] [:D][:D][:D] Thanks Rikki for the invite and your car looks good now . Brian

Hi Brian, Absolutely knackered! Think Ive had about 12 hours sleep in 4 days :) Really happy with the show overall, always going to be something to complain about but apart from some really small things it went without a hitch. Even the weather played nice! Lovely selection of Porsche too on show so thanks for that. Just trying to come down from the buzz of the last 24 hours and I dont think Ill get much sleep again LOL. Fingers crossed theres even more of Stuttgarts finest on show next year to give those pesky GTRs a run for their money :) Thanks, Rikki
