Not sure Derek, however if you book in advance you do. No harm in asking I suppose [;)]

Presumably the portion you edited out of your own message read "Go away and bother someone else, you tight Scottish g*t!" [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]
Cheers Sophia!!! [8D]

Good answer! Think you've managed to wriggle out of that one!
Thought for a moment that our esteemed leader was doing his bit for Anglo-Scottish relations. [8D][;)][8D][;)][8D][;)]
Thanks for being good fun, Sophia!!

Ah the Scottish Motor Show!

Every year I go, and every year I swear I'll never go again.

Of course I'm going ... and fully expect it to be a waste of £10.

Guess what? I've just been to the Scottish Motor show, and not only was it a waste of £10, it was one of the worst for years.

No Audi, BMW, Merc, or Porsche stands. Ford, Vauxhall, Rover, Nissan and Peugeot only represented by a cruddy stand from Arnold Clark. Only two halls, and even the accessory stands were rubbish. Very poor.

I did at least see a few new cars ... Bentley Continental (I see what they mean about it being a big VW) new Nissan 350Z (horrid) Chrysler Crossfire (not quite so horrid) that new MG supercar (they are taking the p*ss, right?).

Good stands by Renault and Honda, but not much else. We deserve better.

Sorry that you had a crap time there John. [&:]
I was going to take the kids there yesterday, but couldn't justify the cost of getting us all in!! By what you are saying, however, I would have been absolutely livid if I'd wasted my money!!! []
You're right though, we do deserve better.

Sorry that you had a crap time there John.

Perversely, I did not have an entirely crap time. I rather enjoyed my day out, and as a retired chap, if one day is not so hot, I have another 364 every year to look forward to, and I can (just about) afford to waste £10.

I would however have been very annoyed if I had stumped up to take a whole family to the show, knowing that my precious leisure time was ticking away, and I had to go back to work the next day.

Now ... how will I waste tomorrow?

JH

PS Interestingly I am flying to Birmingham on wednesday, to the press day of the Bike Show. (Drive down the M6? ... never again) It will be interesting to compare the two. Mind you, I moaned about that last year too!

re your coments about sophia and me I am too much of a gentleman to say anything.Have you seen the height of her boyfriend? and he is a fireman. Re Glasgow Motor Show, if you had only asked I could have sourced some free passes. Regards Brian RO {Kitchen man}

Re Glasgow Motor Show, if you had only asked I could have sourced some free passes

Thanks Brian, I'll remember that for next year.

(What am I saying? ... I vowed I'd never go back!)

I have been to every one since 1959. Every second year, I swear I won't go again...but I do. What are the highlights?

Any Noble?

Even a free pass would be paying too much! I went on Saturday, what a load of c**p!! The only decent cars were on the Sherwood stand, 911 C4 Convertible, Ferarri 360 etc, but I counted more credit card companies than decent cars.
Great if you need to source some of those more obscure tools for working on your car, but for decent cars, forget it!
Don't waste your money. It's shameful that the "upper" reaches of the car market, BMW, Audi, MB, Porsche etc can't even be bothered to turn up at all.

As I said the last time I was there, and this time I mean it, I won't be back!!

[X(]David @ I got free passes for the show thanks [ELECTRIC MAN ] it was not worth the trip into glasgow seen more cars in the car park.As far as the live stage show go down to strathclyde park any night and yo will see more action save your money .regards brian ro 01
