Don't know if anyone can help but one of my wipers must have picked up a piect of grit and has left a scratched arc on the windscreen. It is hardlty visable but I know it is there.

Any recommendations?

Thanks both of you.

I live in Jersey where we don't have any specialist companies like this. There are some other suggestions on one of the other specialist forums and it will have to be a mail order and DIY job for me until I get across to the UK with the car. It is only a small scratch and not worth a lot of hassle at the moment.

Hi there.Im a glazier and I get asked this question from time to time. You could try using some brasso or car cutting cream. If you can rub your finger nail across the scratch and feel it then its probably too deep-worth a try though.Good luck

Yes , I have a telephone, fax and internet but so far I have been unable to beam my car or myself to the UK through that medium. At over £400.00 for a ferry round trip without fuel or a hotel I shall not be able to visit just for a scratched windscreen! I can get to France for less than half that where I am sure similar companies exist.

Thanks, couldn't find any Brasso so used Silvo which I guess is a little less abrasive but it seems to have done the trick! Also seems to have cleaned that portion of the screen better than the Porsche glass cleaner I normally use. Always good to hear from a professional.

No, only to the scratch and to a few places where there were stubborn marks that ordinary washing failed to remove. I then used a glass cleaner for a final finish. I did manage to get some Brasso and used that on the screen and it helped as it is a bit more abrasive than Silvo but the mark is still slightly visible in some places because I know that it is there but others have found it difficult to find. A little more elbow grease is needed when I have the time!
