Quite likely the ancillary belt that drives the water pump/ac/alternator. It may be working itself loose, have it looked at before it goes or your car could overheat very quickly.
 
i never use the boxster that much just when its red hot, its been like this for 3 years now, just never had time to get it checked out.
it does not do it all the time, sometimes its fine, its always when its in the morning but it may do it at a petrol station now and then...

its a kind of eeeeeeeeeeeeek noise only when starting the boxster.
 
Mine is the same also. It almost sounds like the starter motor is still engaged once the engine fires up, it usually only lasts a second or so
 
If it sounds like a can of nuts and bolts being shaken for a second or two its normal and is something to do with the tappets IIRC [&:]
