screen washer bottle

Inside surface of plastic SWB on my recently acquired 924s is partially covered with black mould, mainly around high water mark. This is getting into water and clogging gunge filter at end of output tube, stopping flow to nozzles. When I clean filter, system works but clogs again after first couple of uses. Can anyone advise from experience on best way to clean bottle, pref without removal? My thoughts so far are 1) Add bleach to water, fill to top and try to suck out with wet Vax, 2) On next visit to jet wash, blast inside of bottle out with lance - both potentially messy!! If bottle removal necessary, what's involved? ATB, Mike.

If the bottle is removed, a suggestion I heard previously (actually for a header tank, but I would suspect the principle is the same), is to add some clean shingle to what-ever cleaning agent you chose to use - and shake it about. It should aid knocking the dirt off the inaccessible places.

Regards,

Tref.

Try some limestone descaler (for kettles and irons). Use hot (not boiling) water. Fill the bottle to the top, leave overnight and then syphon off rather than pumping through the system.
Cheers,
