I have just been reading a most excellent article on John miles website. It's entitled lightweight confusion by John Gognon and contains some very detailed info. It states that seam welds were applied to among other places : the rear suspension mounting points and stabiliser bar mounts and the rear floor area. I would love for someone to confirm that this is indeed the case. The info is the first detail specific info that I have seen that appears to confirm structural difference. It also contains a good amount of info on the cup cars too ....Mel.

Tks for the heads up Lawrence -a lot of ppl will find this useful. Most of the Cup Car info applies to the USA Cup Car -a different beast.
But read the spec at the end of the article for US road going Cup Cars to revert to a 'proper' Cup Car, reads like the spec for the Euro Cup Car.
The article originally appeared in the May '93 issue of Porsche Panorama, the monthly magazine of PCA, of which I, of course, have a copy!!

Yes Des you did[8D]. And I'm quite pleased to see something approaching proof, rather than the urban myth that has grown around the subject.
