Seat Belt Warning Sounder

Does anyone know how to turn this bloody bonger off.

Everytime I move my car up my drive without a seat belt on I get driven made by this bonger.

I have a dash-light in mine but no warning gong - maybe it is a later addition. What year and model is it, and is the car UK spec? Is there anything in the manual? I can't find anything in the workshop manual that I have - but it only covers cars up to MY2001.

Edit: Looking again at the workshop manual, it was only US spec cars which had the seat belt gong fitted.

Yes, mt UK spec 53 plate C4S does it too. Pain in the neck.

Sadly, the only way I've found to deactivate it is to put a suitably shaped object in the seat belt socket. There's a metal clip thing hanging on a strap by the driver's right shoulder that fits well .... [;)]

I had it on the UK 03 C4S and current 04 TT.
It is annoying I agree.
I might ask on Friday at the OPC - maybe they can disable it.

You will probably find that the OPC refuses to help you unless and until you read and sign a 400 page letter of indemnity against any claim arising out of deleting a safety item and acceptance by you of all legal liability etc..... And as for the effect upon any warranty....
