Seat Covers

Have just purchased a new cayman R with the standard sports seats. Anyone know of a good fitting aftermarket cover and where I can source a pair?

Thanks in advance!

Jonah, I've never heard of anyone using seat covers in a Porsche, apart from mechanics when they're working on them, so why do you ask? The seats are quite hard wearing and the leather can usually be cleaned easily, I'm not sure about the synthetic Alkantara it looks a bit like suede but is said to be very good, apparently very popular in Germany.

It was for when the car is in the workshops to avoid any oil / grease marks. In my business the Mechanics can move the car around and we generally use the throw away plastic covers but they do tear. Was just looking for something a bit more hard wearing.

You could try making up some tougher plastic covers from plastic sheeting, you can buy a clamp which melts two thicknesses of plastic sheet together. Sometimes used in catering and often found in packaging areas of all kinds of industries for vacuum packing items which may suffer from air contamination or moisture, have any mates in a stores/packing area? Alternatively use some cheapo seat covers as may be found in Wilkos or Matalan.

PCGB are now selling seat covers for just this purpose ... see page 73 of the Porsche Post magazine
