Hi 911SC friends I have a 3.2 carrera 1984 and the seats have just one bolt at the rear to hold them on the mounting rail. Other 3.2,s have TWO screws at the rear. Can anybody look at their car seats to see if my car has 911C seats
Thanks in advance best rgds David Griffin

Hi David, my '81 SC has just one screw at the rear of each rail

Thanks Chris Wow It seems as if Porsche had some SC seats left hence my 84 3.2 carrera has just the same seats as you showed. I am having a hell of a job to get the bolt into the back as it is right under the seat and the seat will not push further forward even with the front screws out. I am endeavoring to devise a better method as my hands are too large and artheritic to screw the bolts into the threaqded plates. Grandson has small hands but unablee to start the screw in the thread Thanks for interesting input

Hi David,
My 911SC has only one bolt at the rear on each of the seat fixing rails, been that way since new, I believe

And to prove it, here's a photo, looks a bit rusty; hadn't spotted this,so now I'm going to have to dismantle the seat fixings to clean this up! I have a set of small sockets, the only way to get at the bolts.

Interesting stuff. The single bolt on my 84 3.2 [usually 2 ]is so far under the deat that it is really difficult to remove it without the threaded plate falling of in the track. Is yours the same?

Thanks and best wishes David

Regarding getting the screw started, I would try two things. Try holding the screw with Mole grips. That might let you give it half a turn or more to start.

Another option might be a longer screw with the same thread. I had a feel around under the rail and think there's enough clearance there to tolerate something about 1cm longer?

Thanks Chris for inputs I tried about everything including grandson with small hands but he couldnt start the thread in the plate. I have now decided on a non invasive solution by using the front screws as normal but using a clamp design using the rearmost hole in the mounted rail . I have just ordered the metal plates and hope this will work. Certainly better than the present solution. I now beleive my 84 car had a temporary seat fixing solution .I cant beleive that Porsche would have supported a design so difficult to operate

Thanks for your helpful inputs David Griffin
