Seat retrimming

Can anyone recommend someone in the South East to repair the stitching on my '82 tombstone seats
The side cushions have come away from base at the seams [:(]

Not an urgent job ( doesn't make it handle better, go faster or stop better [;)] ) but it's getting to the stage where it's letting the rest of the car down.

Cheers - Gary

Gary I have the beginings of the same problem on my car.

Southbound advertise in Porsche Post. I have no experience of them myself but they have been around for a fair while.

In Hailsham, East Sussex not far from where I live, there is a company called Polyfacto who I have used several times over 20 years or more for various car trimming work.

Good luck

I've had Southbound do some repair work on my SC seats. They seem happy enough to do small jobs but will probably ask you to leave the seat with them for a few weeks as they tend to fit the small jobs around the larger retrimming work. The quality of work is very good although pricey

I have to agree with Bruce, my front seats were retrimmed by Southbound and they did a really good job. Quality of their work is excellent.

Ditto. Havent had seat work but have been to their workshop (they refurbed my targa roof and supplied new door cards and carpet).

Very high quality of work. I couldnt recommend them highly enough. Just be prepared for a long wait!

Southbound will probably have a long waiting list for jobs. I can recommend Roger of Creech Coachtrimming in Hayes, Kent. Mobile no 0781 268 2522.
I had both seat seams on my 70's car tear along the stitching some years ago, worsened by someone kneeling on the seat. The seams were restitched away from the damaged areas, reinforced and refitted. Seemed costly at the time (can't remember how much) but it was a very time consuming job.
Excellent work and still looking good.
