Seatbelts twisted? 981 Cayman

Hi

I have searched in various places and can’t find anything concrete but do see mentions of this.

The drivers side seat belt is twisted compared to the passenger side.

I’ve checked the mechanism behind the trim and it seems ok.

Is this simply a Porsche thing?

Thanks
Stuart

Hi Stuart. No, the belts should sit flat in the same way they do in your AMG or on the passenger side of your Cayman.

I guess it could have been undone at some point and wrongly re-installed but I suggest you pull the belt all the way out of the retractor so you have the whole length exposed. Sometimes the belt can get folded over on the reel.

Then you can carefully check the lie of the belt all the way from the reel to the bottom mounting point. Sometimes a fold can be hidden in the trim or well down the side of the seat.

If it all looks OK. undoing the bottom mount should enable you to adjust it correctly/

Please let us kow how you get on.

John

Probably needed this to spur me on!

Took the lower part of trim off, released the whole belt and solved!

Thanks!
