My 911 RS Replica has OMP Racing Seats fitted which I do not like. Can anyone recommend a seat with headrest which would be similar to the standard original 73 RS?

I agree with Ian. There is also Alan in Bournemouth, who is the importer of GTS seats

He is quite active on DDK so you could contact him via DDK on http://www.ddk-online.com/phpBB2/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=56

or alternatively to call him on 07968 348644

I think Helen Goff just bought a set for her 911S so maybe she can chime in?

All the best,

Bert

I saw a set of the Mark Waring seats today at Silverstone Classic that belong to Ian Highfield who posts on here. Very nice. Might be worth you chatting to him as well for his opinion. He also got Francis Tuthil to make a mount so they could be set as low as possible as he is tall and has a clearance problem on track days with standard seats - might be a consideration if you are also tall). Here is a link to his profile so you can pm him if you wish http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/showprofile.asp?memId=1569

Ian.

"Can anyone recommend a seat with headrest which would be similar to the standard original 73 RS? "

Do you mean the original RS in 'Lightweight' (M471) or 'Touring' (M472) trim ?

Are you looking for a lightweight period bucket seat or a seat with a reclining & tipping (to allow access to the rear) facility ?

Thanks to all who responded. Plenty of options and homework for me. All the best.

Thanks Andy, I didn't realise there were so many options so plenty to think about. Not bothered about recliners particularly but would like some adjustment from time to time.

I am the 'Ian' referred to by Ian :)

I have a set of 1973 "Safari" seats, from MArk Waring in vinyl / cord - very comfortable with good side support for track day work - also permits use of a six point harness.

Pictures here (lots more in the albums) :-

Ian (Highfield)

you have to excuse Ian he's not that bright[:D][;)]

I quite fancy them in the RSR though...how much were they Ian? And what sort of track support do they give....considering I'll be travelling a lot quicker than you probably[:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][;)][;)][;)]

Jason

No idea what happenened to my photo link - I blame Photobucket :)

They were circa £800 the pair with runners, and are supportive given the extra lateral support. They alos permit a six point harness to be used.

Yes, you will be a lot quicker than me, so perhaps you might go for a 'proper' Recaro SPG etc.

Always welcome to trey mine if we get around to an East Midlands meet.

Ian
