SECOND SERVICE

Does anyone know what will it cost for a second service for my Boxster S with only 11,700 miles on the clock and will my OPC (Glenvarigill) give me a discount for being a PCGB member.

Ring the OPC and they will tell you how much it will cost.

Save £££ take your own oil - 9 litres

10% discount on over the counter parts is the official line..

JCB..

John,

I have heard that Glenvarigill will give discount off the parts, but not labour. I will be phoning them myself to book my 12K service today, so will post what I find. I'll also be supplying my own oil...so hoping for a (relatively) cheap service bill.

There are a few boxster owners around the Glasgow area, not to mention the rest of the PCGB members, if you fancy joining us for a drive, see the Scotland section here, or have a look on http://forum.boxa.net for boxster-specific people. We regularly arrange drives/track days...there was a particularly good drive over the weekend: http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=50794

If this is the second service, I assume it is the 2-year service?

Beware some OPC's will try and say you need the 2-year/24k service even though you only have 12k on the clock.

Don't be fooled. The standard 12k service is ok and much less expensive!!

Actually, if you have covered less than 8000 miles since the last service you can have just the "Annual Service" - this is detailed in the service book.

Standard oil & filter change is fine for low mileage car like yours but they will insist on a brake fluid change also. Once again you can half this cost by going to a Porsche Specialist or playing hard ball with your OPC ... Good luck [;)]
