Dont know if anyone can help, took my LHD boxster to a local bodyshop after some bad driving, whilst being repaired they some how manage to spike the battery, i had all the work done to repair this but the garage who are fixing the car are having problem getting the necessary securit codes to get it started, anyone have any ideas? thanks lee

The only thing I can think of that they could have done is lose the immobiliser codes in the alarm system somehow. This would not happen by simply disconnecting the battery. If they have managed to lose them then the alarm system will need re-programming, and you will need the 'IPAS' codes from Porsche (which I doubt they would give you) and a PST2 - or, more likely, you will need to get the car to an OPC for them to do it.

I asked a mechanic at my local dealer what happens, when this happens, but I forget the details. I remember that the radio usually will not work because it blows a fues. And something about the alternator.

Obviously, check all fuses. There is a control unit under the driver's seat. If the electronics are fried the car will not start. However, this control unit has a 15 amp fuse on the side of it. See if this fuse has blown. If you are lucky it has and the unit may not be fried.
