Selby are the official Porsche body repairers in Nottingham - does anyone have any experience of their work?

No i havent. However, my Carrera 3.0 is serviced at Zentrum Nottingham (carlton). Martin and Mike instructed a chap to do some touch ups and paint my ducktail spoiler. Their guy has done a cracking job at a very competitive price.

If it is you that is paying, why not give them a call to compare? Click on Zentrum description to let others do the talking about them.

Their correct details are (as their website www.zentrum.co.uk doesnt seem to be updated yet) Conway Garage Conway Rd, Carlton, Nottingham, NG4 2PU - 0115 961 3911

I'm not related to the guys and I don't benefit from recommending them: I was simply well impressed with their service.

Best regards,

Bert

My dad had the door strap problem fixed on his 993 there. He said they were v good and they did it at a good price.

Selby's are the only Porsche Approved bodyshop in Nottinghamshire.......and don't they just know it !

My car recently went there for a repair. I found their attitude to customer service to be very limited - cutting a long story short they refused to release the car until the insurance company had physically paid because of a bad experience they'd previously had with the same insurer. This was made worse because they didn't appear to get approval for additional work from the insurance assessor, which only delayed things further.

That said the work they have done appear to be absolutely excellent, as it should be for the price they charge and the amount of time it took to complete, (though the car is going back in to complete some stuff they really should have spotted before it was released to me[]).

I guess who's paying will have a lot to say on your choice of repairer - plus whether you think the Porsche Lifetime repair warranty is important. In my position the insurer was paying, and my car was just over a year old so the warranty was worthwhile, I just hadn't realised the headache's I would be letting myself in for [;)].

For minor chips and dents I can recommend Chipsaway. I've just had a small dent and a rusty stone chip repaired by them on my wifes Polo and the job is faultless and only took a couple of hours. The price was reasonable at £115+vat although they can't guarantee against rust with the rusty stone chip. I reckon you would have been looking at a good £300+ at a proper body shop by the time they had told you that you need to respray half the car just to blend in the stone chip.

Unfortunately I wasn't organised enough to take some before and after pics. I would use them again on my 944.

I'm due to have some rust repaired and a wing resprayed at a body shop in Derby in a few month time so i'll let you know how it goes.

just got my Boxster back from Selby's today and my experience of them has been very efficient although the car was in for quite a while after "a part didn't arrive from Porsche". They have done a cracking job though - looks like brand new. It wasn't cheap though, infact it was extorionate although most of that was down to Porsche parts. Luckily someone else's insurance company was paying. I didn't have any of the problems Darren mentions above that he previously warned me about. Perhaps that is down to the insurance company rather than them?
