Because of the higher power of the Boxster S and its optional high-performance tyres, it received reinforced rear wheel carriers and wheel bearings, with slightly longer longer track arms for reduced toe-in variations. The Boxster S brake discs are also larger, thicker and perforated.

I can't tell you why the 19" wheels won't fit your standard Boxster Anders, but it's most likely down to clearances and wheel offsets.

Thanks for the information Jeff
it looks as if I'm keeping my 17"for
the moment i was hoping i might get
the Carrera s alloys in a 18" rims
i saw a set of 18" on fleebay but were
aftermarket copies and not porsche
OME and the seller only had 3 rims
i suspect a pothole got the fourth one
well thank for all your help and keep
up with all the great posts kind regards

Anders to go for too large a wheel will as Jeff says load the bearing carrier more than normal it can result in wheel bearings suffering and due to this some insurers don't like people going beyond the option sizes for the model. You may well be able to get hold of a set of 17" option wheels maybe such as those fitted to the first Boxster S which came out about the same time as the 2.7 so that is the first to look at and it was being fitted until 2003 and so there should be a few about.

Do you know anyone in your area who is a non franchised Porsche parts supplier? If not try Porsha Part in Lancashire he is very helpful and can deliver.[;)]

hi kevan i have 17 inch porsche turbo ones
on my car the now they are great condition
so i will just be keeping them on the boxster
for now will defiantly be trying to get 18 s
when i can track them down and the price is right
i just want to full up the wheel arch as best as i can
i no that the bigger the wheel the smaller tyre
the harder the ride will be so i think 18s are
probably better thanks again for posts
regards Anders
