Sell the 997 C4S?

My previous thread has been about my 996 C4S vs 997 C4S issue (still unresolved!) but I need to ask for your opinions on selling the 997, should I decide to, having set my heart instead on another 996 C4S.

Should I try to persuade the OPC to give me my deposit back and clear off? I am very unlikely to find the exact spec 996 C4S with them, of course, so I guess it would be my last contact with them.

Or should I try to sell the car privately? Noone EVER seems to buy a Porsche privately from my (albeit limited) experience. Is there any chance of doing so at a premium- no, I don't live in London.

I assume non-OPC, but Porsche specialist dealers are out, as they would HAVE to sell it on at a premium to give me the purchase price and yet leave them with a profit.

The car is black/black, manual, PCM/phone, sports exhaust and seats, BOSE, Carrera Sport wheels, with coloured centres, due in March.

Thanks, Derek

The OPC should give you your deposit back.

They may not like it, and maybe you should give them the opportunity to find a C4S for you, but I have it on good authority that, if you are firm but friendly, and are remaining as a Porsche customer, they will take the long term approach and return your deposit.
