After much deliberating over the last couple of months I have decided to sell my 993 Targa and let someone else have the same enjoyment that I have had from this wonderful car over the last 13 years.
I don't know whether to blame the pandemic or advancing years but I am just not driving it much these days.
It is a very well maintained car that I bought from a close friend who had it for nearly 10 years before purchasing a new 997 Targa 4S. Current mileage is 81k It genuinely wants for nothing and wont for some time with almost all significant maintenance items such as clutch, suspension, discs etc replaced. There is a detailed service history with mostly OPCs (yes I know!) plus a few marque specialists.
This post is not intended as a for sale ad - I am looking for advice as to the best way to sell the car using a third party. I really do not want to get bogged down with sending loads and loads of photos (which I don't have at present anyway) and details about the car following previous experience with tyre kickers and time wasters (Ebay!!) Apologies to all serious buyers out there!
Collecting Cars and Car and Classic auctions have been suggested and i wondered if any others had had experience of these platforms. The other alternative is a marque specialist but as most of the maintenance has been OPCs I don't have any experience of any of them especially when selling a car. Is there any consensus over a particular specialist?
The other problem I have is that I do not have any idea what I should be asking for the car. I know what I paid for it and I know what I have spent on it but that doesn't really help. What I do know is that the car is in excellent shape both mechanically and cosmetically with a well documented history and in a nice colour - Iris Blue Pearl metallic with a marble grey/blue interior.
Any thoughts /guidance would be appreciated. If someone reading this is looking for a 993 Targa then feel free to PM me and I will be happy to have a chat.
